Local Cops Flout Sanctuary Law to Help ICE Deport Immigrants

Local police officer Brad Herzog pulled over Daniel Torrez Perez in Illinois, which triggered an FBI alert regarding a federal immigration warrant for deportation. Due to state law (the TRUST Act), officers could not act on the immigration warrant, but an FBI agent then guided Herzog to arrest Torrez instead using an outstanding state DUI charge, holding him overnight.
