Iran warns of a harsh response to anticipated US sanctions and other Middle East news

Iran warned that U.S. sanctions will not bring peace to the region, stating it would respond harshly to any escalation of expanded measures. Separately, Syrian and Israeli officials met in Jordan attempting to defuse tensions after Israel conducted strikes on an air base in Idlib province. Iran also continues to demand lifting the U.S. naval blockade and reopening traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
