Mamdani Touts Speedy Parks Repair Crews

Mayor Zohran Mamdani kicked off the “Renew Crew” initiative to conduct emergency repairs at city parks and rec centers within three weeks or less. The crew will focus on small fixes, such as broken fountains or patching asphalt, rather than major capital projects. Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura added that these quick improvements can greatly enhance someone’s experience at a park.
