College grad reportedly dies in Six Flags roller coaster incident as family sues theme park

A California family filed a lawsuit against Six Flags Magic Mountain after their 22-year-old son, Christopher Hawley, suffered fatal head trauma from the X2 roller coaster attraction in summer 2022. The suit alleges defective ride design and failure to warn the public about risks. Furthermore, the amusement park has kept the X2 closed since July 12th following a separate incident involving an unconscious rider.
