The mother of a 7-year-old girl was dealing with the aftermath of an East Nashville shooting when Blessyn Barber was shot in her bed after a bullet intended for next door passed through their apartment wall. The family has been living out of a hotel room for two weeks because they do not feel safe returning to the original apartment. She is now trying to secure new housing and started a GoFundMe campaign while facing difficulties with Metro’s public housing department.
