Upgrades underway for Colorado Springs' Rock Island Trail

The Rock Island Trail in Colorado Springs is undergoing major upgrades, featuring the construction of two miles of urban trail between Sand Creek and Constitution Boulevard. The project scope also includes installing a 210-foot pedestrian bridge spanning Sand Creek and establishing a new pedestrian-activated crossing at Peterson Road. These improvements are intended to enhance safety and encourage broader access for walkers, runners, and cyclists.
