Higher grades and belonging: Trans students thrive when their teachers support them

New research indicates that supportive teachers and environments significantly boost belonging and higher grades for transgender students. However, data shows many trans and nonbinary students face discrimination at school, including reports of verbal harassment and policy violations. The findings urge increased inclusion through affirming student names, pronouns, and supporting student-led LGBTQ+ groups.
