One dead after shooting in south Charlotte

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Montford Drive in South Charlotte. Officers responded to an assault call after 1 a.m. A victim was discovered with life-threatening gunshot wound injuries and was taken to a hospital by MEDIC, where they were pronounced deceased. CMPD reports that all believed parties involved have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
