Federal officials announce water cuts as Colorado River supplies continue to plunge

Federal officials announced sharp water cuts for California, Nevada, and Arizona over the next two years due to dwindling supplies in the Colorado River. Under the plan, these three states must collectively reduce usage by 1.25 million acre-feet annually, while Mexico will also reduce its intake under a U.S.-Mexico treaty.
