How a sanctuary outside LA has cared for rare, endangered gibbons for a half-century

The Gibbon Conservation Center in Santa Clarita Valley has dedicated over 50 years to the care of critically endangered gibbons. This global institution, which currently cares for some 40 gibbons across five species, contributes significantly to research on gibbon vocalizations and care methods. The center works to address threats facing the species, such as habitat destruction in Southeast Asia.
