Waterspouts become tornadoes in Queens and on Long Island
Two tornadoes touched down in Queens and on Long Island on Thursday evening. According to the National Weather Service, both started as waterspouts before making landfall, transforming them into tornadoes. The initial waterspout reached the Eastern Rockaways in Queens, while the second was reported in Atlantic Beach.
