Homeland Security made a big claim about noncitizen voting. Now it can’t prove it

The Department of Homeland Security issued conflicting figures regarding noncitizen voting on voter rolls. The agency initially claimed that nearly 16,000 potential noncitizens were identified; however, it later told Nevada election officials that the actual number was only 185 such individuals.
