CBP officers seize nearly 850 pounds of khat packed into 12 suitcases after flight from London
Two travelers arriving from London were subjected to a secondary inspection at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Aug. 13. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered approximately 850 pounds of khat (Catha edulis) packed into 12 suitcases within the baggage. The seized material, estimated to have a street value of $100,000, prompted the men's release pending further investigation.
