Prosecutor tells Australian appeals court mushroom poisoning murderer should never be released
Prosecutor Brendan Kissane told an Australian appeals court that Erin Patterson’s sentence of 33 years before parole for poisoning relatives with death cap mushrooms is “manifestly inadequate.” He argued that due to the nature of the offending, she should never be considered for release or receive a nonparole period shorter than 33 years. The appeal relates to convictions stemming from an incident where she prepared beef Wellington pastries at her home in Leongatha.
