2 college sophomores dead, 7 injured after car strikes cyclists on training ride

A deadly crash involving a car and cyclists occurred in the Hampton area of Carter County, Tennessee, resulting in two fatalities and injuring seven people. Two university cycling team members, Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers, were identified as victims. Following the incident, 69-year-old John Benfield was arrested on charges including vehicle homicide by recklessness.
