Coral scientists move 1,000 corals north to escape ocean heat
Coral scientists are relocating endangered corals further north from nurseries to escape dangerous ocean heat caused by climate change. The Coral Restoration Foundation recently moved 1,000 corals from Tavernier to near Elbow Reef in search of better environmental conditions and to build redundancy. This relocation also provides a chance for researchers to compare coral health across different locations.
