Bay Harbor Islands Police Commander Tomas Rego received an award for rescuing a 1-year-old girl named Noa after hearing screams in the Indian Creek canal. While off duty, Rego found Noa unconscious and pulseless at the Haulover sandbar and administered CPR until she responded, allowing her family to be grateful.
