Manuel Hernandez, an El Salvador national, was arrested by ICE after being accused of operating an overcrowded, unlicensed boat tour that capsized near Liberty Island, resulting in the death of a mother and her infant daughter. Authorities allege Hernandez operated the vessel illegally, ignoring safety requirements and transporting more passengers than its maximum capacity. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that Hernandez would be removed from the country after facing criminal charges.
