Detroit man charged with allegedly smuggling narcotics into Michigan prisons through the mail

A Detroit man named John Calhoun was charged with allegedly smuggling narcotics into Michigan Department of Corrections facilities through the mail after an investigation involving MDOC, Michigan State Police, and the Michigan Department of Attorney General. He faces multiple felony charges, including conducting a criminal enterprise and bringing contraband into prisons, following the interception of packages sent to eight correctional facilities. The man is scheduled to appear again in 36th District Court on Aug. 24.
