Castle Pines voters could decide fate of large annexations under proposed charter changes
Voters in Castle Pines, Colo., may decide whether all annexation proposals involving more than 20 acres must receive voter approval, following concerns raised by a controversial Crowsnest annexation proposal. A citizen-led initiative has gathered signatures for two charter amendments to be placed on the November ballot. These proposed changes aim to require voter consent for large land parcels and prevent developers from bundling multiple small tracts into a single annexing operation.
