Over 70,000 potential migrants from Morocco attempted to cross into Ceuta, a Spanish territory. At least 90 people died during this deadly migration surge between Morocco and Spain. Both Moroccan and Spanish authorities blamed social media rumors and human smuggling networks for the major crossing attempt.
