Syrian state TV: Israeli strikes hit airbase runway in northwest Syria, no casualties

Syrian state TV reported that Israeli airstrikes hit the runway of the Abu Duhur airbase in northwest Syria, causing material damage but incurring no casualties after eight strikes were made. Since the fall of Bashar Assad’s government in December 2024, tensions between Israel and Turkey over Syria have been increasing. The facility was reportedly being rehabilitated by Turkey, a main backer of Syria’s government.
