Sanitation worker dies after falling off garbage truck on his first day on the job

A 32-year-old sanitation worker named John Derrick Dover died after falling from a garbage truck on his first day of employment in Cherokee County, S.C. The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. Monday while he was riding on the rear platform. Dover was transported to Spartanburg Medical Center, where he passed away.
