Secretary of State speaks on poll location recordings, defends voter vouching law

Secretary of State Steve Simon defended Minnesota’s voter vouching law after undercover videos were recorded at polling locations, noting that while a voter can vouch for multiple people, the vouched person must still provide identifying information. Simon believes the conduct shown in the videos could constitute impersonation or trespassing, but stated that prosecutors must make that judgment. He also indicated that reports of suspicious activity are generally made when suspected.
