Denver firefighters union sues state union over bill for $389K in unpaid dues

Denver's local firefighters union, Local 858, has filed a lawsuit against the state organization, Colorado Professional Fire Fighters (CPFF), challenging a $389,000 bill for unpaid dues. Local 858 asserts that members voted to disaffiliate from CPFF nearly two years ago and thus do not owe the money. Meanwhile, IAFF stated that Local 858 failed to follow its constitutional rules when attempting to break away from the statewide union.
