Monroe police say officer-involved shooting began with suspicious person call

The Monroe Police Department reported that an officer fired a shot Sunday night on Alda Drive after the department received a call regarding a suspicious person. Investigators from both the Monroe Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation remained at the scene for six hours overnight. One individual was hospitalized, but officials stated no officers were injured and the community is not in danger.
