Heavy rain near Aspen Acres Fire burn scar turns deadly in Pueblo County

A man died Sunday in Pueblo County after being swept away by fast-moving floodwaters near the Aspen Acres burn scar following heavy rainfall. Search efforts, including drone teams and helicopter crews, located the deceased two miles downstream in a creek. Officials reminded residents to exercise caution during monsoon season due to the rapid and dangerous development of flash flooding.
