‘Outrageous’ handcuffing of New Orleans journalist sends ‘chilling message,’ says media group

A media rights advocacy organization stated that the "outrageous" handcuffing of journalist Danny Monteverde and lawyer Elana Beiser sent a “chilling message” to members of the press. The temporary detention occurred when they were covering an indictment of Louisiana’s attorney general in connection with a protest over a courtroom closure at the New Orleans criminal district courthouse.
