California river otter suffers brain injury in hit-and-run strike

A young river otter in Vacaville suffered a brain injury after being struck by a car. Although the animal developed brain swelling, rescuers are optimistic about its prognosis. They expect the otter to achieve a full recovery and be released into the wild within days.
