Hastings daycare operator pleads guilty to assaulting a 4-month-old child in 2022

Megan Appert, a Hopkins home daycare operator in Hastings, pleaded guilty to third-degree assault involving a 4-month-old boy in 2022. She faced charges following an investigation stemming from concerning signs displayed by the child, including retinal hemorrhages and seizures. A sentencing date has been scheduled for September 11.
