Former coach gets decade-long prison sentence for child abuse material

Nathaniel Byrd, a former youth coach in Caldwell County, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and 30 years of supervised release for receiving child sexual abuse material. The sentence was announced by the U.S. attorney for the Western District of North Carolina after Byrd pleaded guilty and admitted downloading the material following a phone seizure during a search at his home in Hudson.
