Flock announces changes amid backlash over its license plate reader network

Flock Safety announced platform changes aimed at addressing privacy concerns and documented law enforcement abuses of its license plate reader network. These updates include making an audit tool mandatory for all customers to flag abnormal search behavior and shortening the data retention window from 30 days to seven days. Furthermore, law enforcement users must now link every search to a specific case number.
