Eastern plains communities to get better weather alerts after NOAA upgrades Deer Trail transmitter

NWS Boulder began installing a new weather radio transmitter in Deer Trail, upgrading from an old analog system to a 5G connection. This enhanced NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards network is expected to provide reliable, clear signals for residents across the Eastern Plains. The upgrade will expand the alert range to include communities like Watkins, Strasburg, and Franktown.
