Tesla reveals solar plans that could advance Elon Musk’s push to outpace US panel capacity

Tesla is planning a $10.1 billion solar factory, code-named Project Crystal Sun, in Fort Bend County, Texas. Elon Musk stated that both Tesla and SpaceX are separately targeting 100 GW annually of manufactured solar power in the US. This ambitious capacity would significantly exceed the US's current operational module manufacturing capacity of 74.1 GW.
