Nepenthe, an iconic restaurant located on the Big Sur coast, is currently under evacuation due to the Timber Fire. Owner and general manager Kirk Gafill stated that the closure during peak season has resulted in estimated lost sales ranging from $65,000 to $70,000 daily. He also addressed year-round fire preparedness within heavily forested areas.
