Former US Marine held in Russia for more than 4 years on disputed charges has been released

Robert Gilman, a Massachusetts teacher and former Marine, was released by Russia after spending more than four years on disputed charges of beating a police officer and attacking prison staff. President Donald Trump announced that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the release, characterizing it as being made 'on a Humanitarian Basis' without an exchange. Officials stated that while this is appreciated, five other Americans remain imprisoned in Russia.
