14-year-old killed in shooting just before first day of high school; best friend arrested

A 14-year-old Louisiana boy was killed in a shooting in Hahnville after St. Charles Parish deputies responded to reports of gunfire near his home. Detectives subsequently arrested a 16-year-old best friend who is facing charges including second-degree homicide and illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile. The victim was set to begin his freshman year at Hahnville High School.
