The author received a suspicious phone call claiming she missed jury duty and that police were coming to her house. She managed to terminate the conversation by citing an upcoming medical appointment and needing to leave for her scheduled ride. Later, she confirmed to her Lyft driver that the threat was likely a scam since no law enforcement showed up.
