Camden nonprofit plans to keep bus riders cool with shade and pollinator gardens

The nonprofit Neighborhood Collaborative Community Gardens plans to combat Camden's urban heat island effect by installing four vegetated bus shelters across the city next summer. These 'blooming bus stops' will include shade trees, flowering plants, and painted pergolas, promoting public health through green infrastructure. The project is supported by a grant from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for reducing excessive urban heat.
