Europe Looks Up for First Total Eclipse Since 1999

A total solar eclipse will cross Greenland, Iceland, Portugal, and northern Spain on August 12th, marking the first such event visible from central or western Europe since 1999. Royal Observatory Greenwich Astronomer Imo Bell reported that the event offers spectators a rare view of totality and gives scientists an opportunity to study the sun’s corona.
