Cyprus natural gas to supply Europe by first half of 2028, minister says, as EU seeks new sources

The energy minister stated that natural gas from a deposit off Cyprus can supply European consumers as early as March 2028. The project involves the Cronos field and partners TotalEnergies and Eni, which will transport gas to Europe by first routing it through Egypt's Zohr natural gas deposit for liquefaction.
