Hawaii Gov. Josh Green cruises to Democratic primary win, sets up fall matchup with GOP nominee

Democratic Hawaii Gov. Josh Green won the primary election, confirming his status as a strong favorite for re-election in Hawaii. He raised approximately $3.5 million during the race, significantly outspending Republican Gary Cordery's fundraiser total of about $313,000. Green also highlighted that his administration responded effectively to the 2023 Lahaina wildfire and flooding from March Kona low storms.
