‘We saw death and suffering’: Dozens of Nigerians freed after 6 months in jihadi captivity

Over 160 kidnapped Nigerians were rescued from jihadi captivity and handed over to authorities in Ilorin, Kwara state. The freed captives, many of whom are women and children, described enduring six months of intense suffering, including days without food and witnessing death. The rescue highlighted how militant activities previously confined to the north are moving south through Nigeria.
