More than 50 bodies found decomposing inside Chicago funeral home after neighbors complained of 'stench'

More than 50 decomposing bodies were discovered improperly stored at South Chicago Chapel after residents complained about a "stench." Authorities found deplorable conditions, including rodent and maggot infestations, due to a lack of refrigeration. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation subsequently suspended the funeral director's license.
