Motorcycle rider dead following DUI crash along Highway 83 last month

A motorcycle rider's passenger died following a DUI crash that occurred around 9:30 p.m. on July 30 at the Highway 83 and Shoup Road interchange. The accident involved a car, driven by Evan R. Fields, turning left onto Shoup Road, hitting a motorcycle traveling northbound on Highway 83. Fields was subsequently taken into custody for DUI and additional pending charges.
