Highland Park installs solar-powered streetlights after more than a decade in the dark
Highland Park is installing solar-powered streetlights after the city lost over 1,000 lights in 2011 when DTE settled a $4 million debt. Through a partnership between city officials and Soulardarity, new solar streetlights are being installed on multiple streets, with Mayor Glenda McDonald stating that the goal is to bring lighting back to every neighborhood.
