Michigan Gov Whitmer congratulates El-Sayed, expressing support after backing his opponent in Dem primary

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer expressed support for Abdul El-Sayed after she initially backed his opponent, U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, in the primary. El-Sayed emerged as the winner of the close democratic contest. Later, both El-Sayed and Stevens congratulated each other and pledged to unite to defeat Mike Rogers this November.
