New images of the sun show its surface in the finest detail yet
Scientists utilized the National Science Foundation's Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope in Hawaii to capture unprecedented high-resolution images of the sun’s surface. These new images revealed strange feathery patterns and ripples of instability, caused by magnetized plasma moving past each other at different speeds. The findings were published in the journal Nature and aim to help scientists better track massive energy bursts called coronal mass ejections.
