Leader of Myanmar's military-backed government arrives in Thailand seeking political legitimacy

The head of Myanmar’s military-backed government visited Thailand to seek political legitimacy with meetings set up with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and other officials. Critics, including Justice For Myanmar, stated that the visit lends “false legitimacy” to Min Aung Hlaing amid ongoing rights violations. The country is experiencing a bloody civil war after the military seized power from an elected civilian government in 2021.
