DoorDash's Dot delivery robot faces challenges like loading orders, tricky deliveries, and securing permits for expansion. CEO Tony Xu emphasized the need to solve these issues before scaling autonomous delivery, including interactions with gated communities and doorman buildings. The company is also developing DoorDash Air for drone deliveries later this year.
